Welcome the Stranger

Hospitality is old, simple and a little risky.

· Elder Marcus Teague · Hebrews 13:1-3

The writer of Hebrews tells us not to neglect hospitality, because some have welcomed angels without knowing it.

Three things to take home

  1. Hospitality starts small: a chair pulled out, a name remembered.
  2. Welcome costs something. It takes time and a willingness to be interrupted.
  3. We do not have to be experts. We only have to show up and say hello.

Questions for a small group

  • Who welcomed you the first time you walked into a new place?
  • What is one small thing we could change on Sunday mornings?
